Saalbach-Hinterglemm, a beautiful town for living as well as spending a holiday.
A settlement was recorded here as early as 1222. The name "Salpach" is first mentioned in documents in 1350. Already then, people knew that this spot on earth was a good place to live.
The town is situated at almost exactly 1,000 m above sea level and, in terms of infrastructure, offers everything needed for daily living – from food and sports stores, boutiques pharmacies and drugstore shops to a good choice of restaurants, bars and hotels and doctors and banks.
The inhabitants are “relaxed and unhurried mountain folk” who, with their affable manner, will enrich your holiday with experiences.
Regular, internationally known events bring visitors from the whole world to this fascinating valley e.g. the annual Harley Davidson meeting, the Mountain Attack and the annual Rave-on-snow.
In 1991 Saalbach-Hinterglemm hosted the alpine ski world championship and world cup races of various disciplines have been held here ever since.
